The Crafter’s Guide to HobbyMaker Discount Codes — What Actually Works in 2026

Written by Paul Worrall

HobbyMaker is one of those craft retailers that’s genuinely difficult to ignore once you’ve discovered it — a live TV shopping channel for crafters that somehow manages to feel more like a community than a sales operation. I’ve spent sixteen years in the art and craft supplies industry, nearly a decade of that as Digital Marketing Manager at ARTdiscount, and I’ve watched plenty of craft retail models come and go. HobbyMaker — live on Freeview 73, Sky 670, Virgin Media 754 and online at hobbymaker.com — has built something genuinely interesting. If you’re here looking for a HobbyMaker discount code, you’re in the right place. I’ve gone through everything so you don’t have to.

I run Discount Art Supplies — a price comparison and deals platform used by over 36,000 UK artists and crafters across all our channels. Finding genuine discount codes and real savings across UK craft retailers is essentially what we do. Here’s the complete honest guide to saving at HobbyMaker.

HobbyMaker Discount Code — What’s Currently Available

HobbyMaker runs promo codes more actively than most craft retailers — they typically have several working codes live at any given time, shared through their TV shows, newsletter and social channels. At the time of writing, RAINBOW10 is a verified working code giving 10% off selected craft supplies — worth trying at hobbymaker.com checkout before anything else. Community-shared codes like hmhello and 4birthday have also been verified by multiple users recently and are worth trying on your next order.

The honest caveat — which I’ll always give you rather than pretend otherwise — is that HobbyMaker discount codes change frequently. Codes that were active last week may have expired by the time you read this. Always verify at checkout before relying on a saving, and check our deals page for the most current verified codes we’ve spotted. HobbyMaker releases around four new discount codes per month on average, so there’s almost always something active if you know where to look.

HobbyMaker Discount Code First Order — £5 Off When You Sign Up

This is the one I’d start with if you’ve never ordered from HobbyMaker before. New customers who sign up to the HobbyMaker mailing list receive £5 off their first purchase — delivered via the welcome email rather than applied automatically at checkout. The sign-up form is on the HobbyMaker homepage and takes about thirty seconds. The welcome code arrives promptly and can be used on papercraft, mixed media, arts, needlecraft and the full general craft range.

£5 off a first order isn’t life-changing, but it’s free money that costs nothing to claim. If your first order is going to be £30 or more — which is easily done once you start browsing the HobbyMaker range — that’s a meaningful percentage off before you’ve even looked at any other discount. Sign up before you shop. It’s the easiest saving on this entire list.

The newsletter itself is also worth staying subscribed to beyond the welcome code. HobbyMaker sends updates on upcoming TV shows, exclusive promotions, and advance notice of sale events — the kind of insider information that means you’re not the last to know when something genuinely good is on offer at hobbymaker.com.

HobbyMaker Discount Code UK — Student Discount 10% Off

Students get 10% off at HobbyMaker on full-priced items, verified through either UNiDAYS or Student Beans. If you’re already registered on either platform for other student discounts, adding HobbyMaker takes about a minute — verify your student status, receive your unique HobbyMaker promo code, apply it at checkout. The discount works online and is available to anyone over 16 in full-time education.

For art and craft students buying materials regularly, 10% off adds up considerably over a year of purchases. HobbyMaker’s range covers a lot of what creative students actually need — card, paper, adhesives, mixed media supplies, tools — and the student discount makes it a genuinely competative option against specialist art retailers for everyday craft consumables. If you’re studying something creative and you’re not already using UNiDAYS or Student Beans for HobbyMaker, sort that before your next order.

You might also want to check our guide to Hobbycraft discount codes — they also offer 10% student discount through the same platforms, so depending on what you need it’s worth comparing both retailers before you buy.

What Is HobbyMaker? The Channel, the Shop and the Community

Worth explaining properly for anyone who’s come to hobbymaker.com via a discount code search and isn’t quite sure what they’re looking at. HobbyMaker is a UK craft TV channel that broadcasts live every day from 1pm to 9pm — Freeview 73, Sky 670, Virgin Media 754, Freesat 806, Freely 456, and streaming on their website and app simultaneously. The format is live craft demonstrations from industry experts covering papercraft, mixed media, needlecraft and general arts and crafts, with products available to buy directly through the show or online.

It’s genuinely entertaining television if you’re into craft — and I say that as someone who’s spent enough time in this industry to be pretty cynical about craft retail. The live format creates genuine community around the shows, viewers message in questions, and the demonstrators are actual experts rather than presenters reading from a script. Brands like Anna Griffin, Hunkydory and a long roster of papercrafting specialists regularly appear. The e-commerce side at hobbymaker.com sells the products featured on-air alongside a broader craft supplies range. One clever delivery policy worth knowing: you only pay one delivery charge per day regardless of how many times you order — useful if you’re shopping across multiple shows.

HobbyMaker Sale — When to Find the Best Discounts

Beyond individual discount codes, HobbyMaker runs seasonal sale events that can offer deeper savings than any promo code. Their Boxing Day Sale, New Year’s Sale, Spring Clearance and Summer Savings events are the main ones to watch for — and historically their best discount codes have appeared alongside these events, sometimes stacking with sale pricing to produce genuinely significant savings on larger orders.

The Back to School sale period in August and September is particularly relevant for creative students and teachers stocking up on craft materials. HobbyMaker also runs flash promotions tied to specific TV shows — products featured during a show are occasionally offered at a show-exclusive discount price that isn’t available online afterwards. Watching live or having the app open while the show is on is the only way to catch these.

For current sale offers, check HobbyMaker’s sale section directly — it’s updated regularly and doesn’t require a code to access the reduced pricing listed there.

HobbyMaker Delivery — What You Need to Know

Delivery at hobbymaker.com is a flat £6.95 standard charge — no free delivery threshold at time of writing. That’s slightly higher than some competitors, but the one-charge-per-day policy is genuinely useful if you’re a regular watcher who might want to place multiple orders across a day’s shows. Four to six working days is the standard delivery window, shipping direct from their warehouse. If delivery cost is a concern on a smaller order, it’s worth topping up your basket to make the £6.95 feel like a smaller percentage of the overall spend.

HobbyMaker vs Hobbycraft — Which Is Better for Crafters?

A question I get fairly regularly from the community at Discount Art Supplies — and worth answering honestly rather than sitting on the fence. They’re different enough that the comparison is almost beside the point. Hobbycraft is a physical retail chain with 180+ UK stores and a broad craft range covering everything from fine art to kids’ craft — the place you’d pop into on a Saturday afternoon or order basics from online. HobbyMaker is a TV shopping channel with an e-commerce arm, focused primarily on papercrafting and mixed media, and the community and live demonstration format is a genuine differentiator that Hobbycraft can’t replicate.

For papercrafters and mixed media artists specifically, HobbyMaker’s range and expertise is hard to beat. For general craft supplies, acrylics, canvases, or anything more fine-art-facing, Hobbycraft or specialist retailers like Jacksons Art or GreatArt will usually serve you better. Our price comparison tool covers all of them in real time — use it before every order and you’ll never overpay again.
