I spent nearly a decade as Digital Marketing Manager at ARTdiscount — from June 2012 to January 2022. Which makes me, probably, the most qualified person in the UK to tell you how to actually save money there. This is that guide.

ARTdiscount Discount Code — What’s Currently Available
ARTdiscount releases new discount codes roughly every two days — one of the more active promotional cadences in the UK art supplies market. Category-specific codes are common — extra percentage off Daler-Rowney ranges, canvas deals, paper promotions — alongside occasional sitewide codes. Because the codes rotate so frequently, any specific code I list here may have changed by the time you read it. Their dedicated discounts page is genuinley the most reliable source — I’d check there first before any order.
One thing I know from running their promotions for nearly ten years: the Black Friday and Golden Quarter codes at ARTdiscount are genuinley worth waiting for if you’re planning a larger order. The November promotional period consistently delivered the most significant savings and that pattern hasn’t changed since I left.
ARTdiscount Student Discount — 10% Off via Student Beans
ARTdiscount offers 10% off for verified students through Student Beans — one of the better student discounts in the UK art supplies market. Verify your student status through Student Beans, receive your code and apply at checkout. A few important exclusions apply: Plan Chests, Liquitex Recycled Canvases, Winsor & Newton Canvases, Michael Harding Oil Paints, Mabef Easels and gift cards are not eligible. Everything else in the range is covered.
The student discount cannot be combined with other promotional codes or bundle deals on the same order. If a sitewide code is running that exceeds 10%, use that instead — but for most standard orders the Student Beans 10% is the best available discount for student buyers.
For art students in particular, ARTdiscount is one of the most comprehensive UK sources for professional-grade materials at student-accessible prices. The own-brand ARTdiscount range — brushes, canvases, cartridge paper — is genuinley good value and fully eligible for the student discount.
ARTdiscount Free Delivery — How to Qualify
Free standard UK mainland delivery kicks in on orders over £50 at ARTdiscount. Below that, delivery is £3.95 for standard or £5.95 for express. Free Click and Collect is also available from the ARTdiscount store in Blackpool — useful if you’re local or passing through.
Worth noting: the free delivery threshold is £50 before any discount code is applied. So if you’re using a 10% code on a £55 basket, the post-discount total may drop below £50. Always check your basket total after applying the code to confirm free delivery still applies. I’m mentioning this because it was one of the most common customer service questions when I was there — it catches people out regularly.
ARTdiscount Price Match Promise
The ARTdiscount price match promise is one of the more genrous policies in UK art retail — if you find an identical product at a lower price on another UK-based website, contact ARTdiscount before placing your order and they’ll match the price. And they’ll throw in a free brush set on top. This is a policy I helped build during my time there and it’s worth using — a free brush set alongside a price-matched order is genuinley good value.
The price match applies to identical products — same brand, same product code, same size — from UK-based retailers. It can’t be applied after an order has been placed, so do the comparison before you check out rather than after.
ARTdiscount Clearance — Up to 90% Off
The ARTdiscount clearance section is where I’d always direct serious bargain hunters. Up to 90% off end-of-line and discontinued products — professional grade materials at prices that sometimes beggar belief. 
That photo above was taken in the basement of the Charnley Road building — where we used to do all the product photography for the website. Proper DIY setup, a lightbox, a camera and whoever wasn’t busy that day. Back when I was working from the Blackpool warehouse, I saw what went into clearance and I can tell you the quality issue is never the reason something gets cleared. It’s discontinued colourways, old packaging, superceded product lines, overstocked ranges. The materials themselves are exactly the same.
The clearance section moves fast — popular lines at significant discounts sell through in hours rather than days. Checking it regularly rather than occasionally is the difference between finding genuinley exceptional deals and missing them. A Note on ARTdiscount and Jacksons
ARTdiscount was acquired by Jacksons Art Supplies in April 2026 — bringing together two of the UK’s most established specialist art retailers under the same group. I’d left ARTdiscount back in January 2022, so the acquisition happened well after my time, but it wasn’t a surprise to anyone who knew both businesses. Jacksons had been growing aggressivley and ARTdiscount was exactly the kind of established brand with a loyal customer base that made sense as an acquisition. ARTdiscount continues to trade under its own brand and with its own product range — the URL, the own-brand products, the Blackpool base and the promotional approach all remain familiar to anyone who shopped there before the acquisition. The backing of the Jacksons group means greater buying power and supply chain stability, which practically benefits customers through stock availability and range breadth.
ARTdiscount vs Other UK Art Supplies Retailers
Where ARTdiscount stands out is range breadth — the combination of professional-grade brands alongside the own-brand ARTdiscount range gives a useful spread of price points within a single order. Jacksons Art typically has better pricing on premium professional ranges. Cass Art has more high street stores. Great Art often wins on European brand coverage. ARTdiscount’s particular strengths are the own-brand canvas and brush range, the Blackpool Click and Collect option, and the price match promise which levels the playing field against any competitor on identical products.
