With a heritage dating back to 1928, Bird & Davis is one of the UK’s most prestigious names in the manufacturing of professional art equipment. Originally founded to provide bespoke joinery and canvas stretching for the London art scene, the company has maintained its reputation for traditional craftsmanship while adopting modern techniques to meet the demands of contemporary fine artists.

The company is best known for its exceptional range of artist surfaces. They specialise in manufacturing bespoke canvases, using the finest linens and cottons stretched over high-quality, finger-jointed pine or aluminium stretcher bars. Beyond their world-class canvases, Bird & Davis provides an extensive selection of professional materials, including specialist primers, Michael Harding oils, and premium brushes.

Operating from their North London workshop, they also offer expert bespoke framing and restoration services. Their commitment to quality has made them a trusted partner for major galleries, museums, and professional studios worldwide. Whether you are looking for a standard studio canvas or a custom-built large-scale support, Bird & Davis combines decades of technical expertise with a passion for supporting the longevity and integrity of fine art.
