Artfinder sits in a slightly different category to the craft and stationery retailers I usually cover on Discount Art Supplies — it’s not somewhere you’d buy watercolour paper or a set of brushes. It’s a marketplace for original art, connecting buyers directly with independent artists selling paintings, photography, sculpture, illustration and print. If you’re looking to buy original artwork rather than make it yourself, Artfinder is genuinely one of the better places to do that in the UK. And if you’re here looking for an Artfinder discount code before you commit to a purchase — sensible — here’s everything I’ve been able to verify.
I’m Paul Worrall. I’ve spent sixteen years in the art supplies industry, nearly a decade of that running digital marketing for ARTdiscount, one of the UK’s biggest online art retailers. I now run Discount Art Supplies — a price comparison platform used by over 36,000 artists and art lovers every week across all our channels. The buying side of the art world matters to me as much as the making side. Here’s the honest guide to saving at Artfinder.
Artfinder Discount Code — What’s Currently Available
Artfinder releases new promo codes roughly every 25 days — more frequently than many retailers — and typically has several active codes at any given time. At time of writing, GETNEWART is a cited working code giving 10% off at checkout and worth trying before anything else. Artfinder codes apply to full-price artwork only — they don’t stack with sale items, commission deposits, “make an offer” listings, gift cards or shipping costs, and are generally single-use per customer. Always test at artfinder.com checkout before relying on a saving.
One thing worth knowing about Artfinder discount codes generally: because the platform lists artwork from independent artists rather than a centralised stock, individual artists occassionally offer their own promotional codes directly to buyers who contact them or follow their profile. If there’s a specific artist whose work you’ve been watching, it’s worth reaching out directly — some will have sale codes or will negotiate on price for serious buyers, particularly on larger pieces.
Artfinder Discount Code First Order — 10% Off When You Sign Up
New customers who subscribe to the Artfinder newsletter receive 10% off their first order via a welcome email discount code. The code is delivered promptly after sign-up, is valid for 30 days, and applies to full-price artwork. Given that original art purchases tend to be higher-value than a typical retail order, 10% off a first purchase at Artfinder is a genuinely meaningful saving — on a £200 painting that’s £20 back in your pocket before you’ve done anything more complicated than entering an email address.
Sign up to the newsletter at artfinder.com before you browse — or at the very latest before you add anything to your basket. The welcome code can’t be applied retroactively once you’ve checked out, and there’s no way to claim it on a purchase you’ve already made. Thirty seconds of signup before you start browsing is the whole effort involved.
The newsletter beyond the welcome code is also worth staying subscribed to. Artfinder sends seasonal sale notifications, early access to promotions and discount codes that don’t appear publicly — their Christmas, summer and clearance sale events are often where the deepest discounts surface, and newsletter subscribers typically see them first.
Artfinder Discount Code Free Shipping — What You Need to Know
Artfinder’s free shipping situation is more nuanced than most retailers and worth understanding before you factor delivery into your budget. Free standard shipping is available on most orders — but the qualifying criteria are artwork-specific rather than order-value-specific. Any artwork where the shipping cost to your country is 15% or less of the artwork’s sale price qualifies for free shipping automatically during qualifying promotional periods. Artwork where shipping exceeds that 15% threshold — typically larger pieces, sculptures, or international shipping on heavier works — does not qualify and the shipping cost is shown clearly at checkout before you commit.
The practical upshot: for most standard-sized paintings and prints shipping within the UK, free delivery at Artfinder is the norm rather than the exception. For larger works or international delivery, factor in shipping costs before you compare Artfinder prices against other art marketplaces. A valid promo code can be stacked with the free shipping offer on qualifying orders — so it is possible to get both your 10% discount code and free delivery on the same purchase, which is a combination worth going for on larger orders.
Artfinder Discount Code Student — 10% Off via Student Beans
Students get a 10% discount at Artfinder via Student Beans — verified through the standard student status confirmation process. The same 10% discount is reportedly available to NHS workers and key workers through the same platform. Verify your student status through Student Beans, receive your Artfinder promo code, and apply at checkout on full-price artwork.
For art students specifically — and I’ve spent long enough in this industry to know that art students are often buying original work to study, reference and live with rather than just buying prints — Artfinder is a genuinely useful marketplace. The ability to contact artists directly and see their full portfolio in one place makes it significantly more personal than a gallery or a generic prints retailer. The student discount makes what is sometimes perceived as an expensive purchase considerably more accesible.
Artfinder Discount Code Reddit — What the Community Says
If you’ve searched for an Artfinder discount code on Reddit, you’ll know that the community there tends to be pretty useful for surfacing codes that aren’t widely publicised. A few things consistently come up: the newsletter signup 10% is universally recommended as the starting point for any new buyer; the refer-a-friend scheme (more on that below) is flagged repeatedly as one of the better ongoing savings mechanisms; and individual artist codes or “make an offer” negotiations are mentioned as a route that’s more viable on Artfinder than on most marketplaces because of the direct artist-buyer relationship the platform enables.
One consistent theme in Reddit discussions about Artfinder discount codes is that the codes that do circulate are often legitimately single-use or limited window — unlike some retailers where the same code works indefinitely, Artfinder codes tend to expire and don’t always work if they’ve been shared widely. The newsletter and refer-a-friend routes are more reliable than hunting for codes in community threads, however satisfying that search sometimes is. I’d rather save you the time.
Artfinder Refer a Friend — £10 Off Each Way
Artfinder’s refer-a-friend scheme is one of the more generous in the art retail space — and genuinely worth using if you know anyone else who’s interested in buying original art. When you refer a friend who makes a purchase on artfinder.com, you receive £10 off your next order and your friend receives £10 off their first order. Both savings apply simultaneously — it’s not an either/or. For art lovers with creative circles, this stacks up meaningfully over time.
The mechanic is straightforward: once you have an Artfinder account, you’ll find your unique referral link in your account settings. Share it with friends or family who are considering buying original art, and the credit is automatically applied when they complete a purchase. The £10 referral credit can be combined with other discount codes on your next order in most cases, making it a useful supplement to whatever other savings you’ve accumulated.
What Is Artfinder? The Honest Take
Worth explaining properly for anyone who’s arrived here via a discount code search and isn’t entirely sure what Artfinder is. Founded in 2011, Artfinder is a curated online marketplace connecting buyers with independent artists worldwide — paintings, photography, sculpture, illustration, printmaking and more. All artwork is original or limited edition rather than mass-produced prints, and buyers can contact artists directly to arrange custom commissions, ask questions about the work, or negotiate on pieces that have been listed for a while.
The platform has built a genuine community of artists and collectors over fifteen years, and the curation is meaningful — not everything gets listed, and the quality level is generally higher than open-ended marketplaces. Price points range from under £100 for smaller works and prints up to several thousand for significant original pieces, which means there’s genuine range for different budgets. The ability to filter by price, style, medium, size and subject makes finding something you actually want to live with considerably less overwhelming than it sounds.
For the 36,000 artists and art lovers in the Discount Art Supplies community, Artfinder sits at an interesting intersection — many of our community members are both makers and collectors, and buying original work from other independent artists is something a lot of them do. If you’re in that category, the newsletter discount code on your first purchase is the obvious starting point.
Artfinder vs Other Art Marketplaces — Is It Worth It?
The main alternative marketplaces worth comparing are Etsy, Saatchi Art and directly from artist websites or Instagram. Etsy has a vastly bigger volume of listings but much weaker curation — you’ll find more, and more of it will be irrelevant to what you want. Saatchi Art skews higher price point and more gallery-facing. Artfinder sits in a useful middle ground: genuine curation, accessible price points, and the direct artist relationship that makes a purchase feel personal rather than transactional.
Our guide to Etsy vs Shopify for UK artists covers the selling side of that equation if you’re an artist considering where to list your own work. And if you’re a collector who also makes art and wants to keep your supply costs down alongside your collecting habit, Discount Art Supplies compares prices across all major UK art supplies retailers in real time — so your art budget goes further in both directions.

⚠️ A Note on Artfinder Discount Codes
Artfinder promo codes change frequently and many codes shared on third-party sites are expired or never worked in the first place. Everything in this article is based on verified information at time of writing — but always test any code at artfinder.com checkout before assuming a saving. The newsletter first order code is the most reliable route to a genuine discount for new customers, and I’d always start there before hunting for codes elsewhere.
